Foam fire extinguishers work by covering a burning flammable liquid
with a blanket of foam, cutting off the fire’s air supply and
preventing the release of flammable vapours.
Foam options are available in a 9.1 litre size.

How to use:
1. Pull the Pin at the top of the extinguisher. The pin releases a
locking mechanism and will allow you to discharge the extinguisher.
2. Aim at the base of the fire, not the flames. This is important -
in order to put out the fire, you must extinguish the fuel.
3. Squeeze the lever slowly. This will release the extinguishing
agent in the extinguisher. If the handle is seleased, the discharge
will stop.
4. Sweep from side to side. Using a sweeping motion, move the fire
extinguisher back and forth until the fire is completely out.
Operate the extinguisher from a safe distance, several feet away,
and then move towards the fire once it starts to diminish.
5. Be sure to read the instructions on your fire extinguisher.
That classifies extinguishers by what they contain. You'll also
find fire extinguishers classified by the types of fires you can
use them on. This gives us five different kinds:
- A: Green: For wood, cloth, and paper.
- B: Red: For combustible and flammable liquids such as oil, gasoline, and
paint.
- C: Blue: For electrical equipment and tools.
- D: Orange: For flammable metals.
- K: Black: For animal or vegetable oils or cooking facts.
It's important always to use the right extinguisher for the fire.
Using the wrong extinguisher can put your life in danger and make
the fire worse. For example, you must never use water extinguishers
on electrical fires because you could electrocute yourself and the
people nearby. If you're in the slightest doubt about tackling a
fire, leave it alone and get yourself to safety.
